Xtreme® Lashes

Everyone wants to try them once in their life! Whether they want them for a special event or just to enhance their true beauty!

I have been doing eyelash extensions since 2004! When I first started my boss handed me a kit with a DVD and said please learn this and we will start offering it. I was so nervous and was even more nervous after watching that DVD.

I barely learned anything except to be careful not to glue the eye shut.

I never offered it to my clients.

Until one day in 2006.

I was at the congress of esthetics show in Philadelphia.  I walked passed a booth that read XTREME® EYELASH EXTENSIONS. The whole process intrigued me. I knew I was hooked on this product.

I went back to work and told my boss I need to learn more about this company and asked if she would  be wiling to send me to a class?  She said yes!!!!

I was so excited she signed me up and I went to the first class they offered in New York!

The company was was born in 2006 and I took my first class that year!

Xtreme® lash required you to take their class and in order to use their product they require you to be a certified stylist.

I became a certified stylist and jumped right in. I went back to work after finishing and started my journey!

At first it was slow and then the buzz caught on. Clients were more excited to do the Xtreme eyelash extensions because I had the education and I was now a certified stylist and in my eyes that's more trusting then learning from a DVD.

Now I am going to tell you about what I have seen over the years of doing eyelash extensions.

As the eyelash extensions get more and more popular (surprising in this economy), the cost of the Xtreme eyelash extensions have increased over time. They are  a little pricey but let me remind you, you get what you pay for!

I have seen some  horrible situations with women trying to save money and cut cost by getting sucked into their local nails salons offering eyelash extensions at very very very low cost. Let me remind you again, you get what you pay for.

The women I have come across have had their "nail lady" glue strip lashes or drug store clusters on their eyelid and the base of their natural eyelashes with HAIR EXTENSION GLUE?!?!?!

That is not a process that should ever happen near or around your eyes. Please beware of your local nail salon offering eyelash extensions.

Over the past years we have come to specialize in Xtreme® Lashes. If you are looking to enhance your true beauty or have a special event coming up, give us a call to get more information.

I wound love to help you design the perfect eye!

Night out - At home!?

This winter has been a rough one!  We've been trapped in the house a lot and feel like we need a night out more than usual. I decided to get creative a few weeks ago and try to have a night out-at home.

Our favorite restaurant is Amada, a Spanish tapas restaurant....so I decided to (try) and mimic a night at Amada.  I knew it wouldn't be quite as tasty, but I would at least try!  I started with a trip to Whole Foods, where I was pretty much planning on making up the menu as I went.  I was planning on a ten-course tasting menu so I just picked out things throughout the store that would be easy to make, with just a few simple ingredients.  I grabbed some veggies, a few scallops, shrimp, a small steak, etc.

It was definitely about two hours of prep work that morning and an hour of cooking right before dinner, but completely worth it. I kept some items in the crock pot to keep warm and just brought out two plates at a time.  It was a big hit with my husband and we just pretended we weren't at home for a couple of hours, minus the baby monitor and dishes in our sink :)

Here is the menu:
1. Cheese plate
2. Olives
3. Red pepper and mozzarella Ravioli
4. Roasted Brussel sprouts
5. Ginger Carrot soup
6. Shrimp cocktail
7. Spinach Salad wrapped in prosciutto
8. Seared Scallop
9. Seared Strip Steak
10. Artichoke toast with a fried egg
11. Mini Cannoli and mini cheesecake

Keep in mind most of these things were just a bite or two each. And some more successful than others (ie: Ginger carrot soup was a total failure). But if you're someone like me who likes to cook, its always fun to step out of your comfort zone and try something new!
